Where did it start?
On another Planet

Imagine... It is cold here, on the surface.  We are small planet, smaller than Earth, orbiting a primordial star, faintly glowing in the distance.  Below the ground, however, conditions are warmer.  Down there in the fissures in the rock, tiny globules of an oily substance are alive.  The internal heat of the planet has been enough to encourage tiny living cells to form from the rich chemical interior of the planet.  The cells are nestling snugly in the rock, not far below the surface.  Suddenly, there is a huge explosion.   An asteroid has impacted our planet and the rock, with its living cargo is thrown into space, to start a long and lonely journey to a new home, where it will find conditions ideal - planet Earth.
